Born in 1986 in Auvergne (in the center of France), Julie Moulin began flute at the age of 7 in a small music school with Cyril Coutier, who was his teacher for nearly 10 years. Then she studied the Conservatoire of Clermont-Ferrand with Corinne Sagnol and Hervé Hotier, before going to Paris to study one year with Vincent Lucas. In 2006 she attended the “Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique” (CNSMD) of Lyon in the class of Philippe Bernold, Julien Beaudiment and Gilles Cottin, from where she graduated with flying colours in June 2010.

Only a few months later she won the position of second flute in the “Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra” of Amsterdam. In this prestigious orchestra, Julie has the opportunity to play with the greatest maestros (Mariss Jansons, Bernard Haitink, Lorin Maazel, Pierre Boulez, Valery Gergiev, Andriss Nelsons, Ivan Fisher, Nikolaus Harnoncourt…) in the most famous halls all over the world (Berlin’s Philharmonie, Vienna’s Musikverein, Tokyo’s Suntory Hall, New York’s Carnegie Hall, Buenos Aires’ Teatro Colon, Sydney Opera house..)

Fond of chamber music, Julie forms a duet (Duo Yati) together with Bruno Bonansea beside the Quintet. She also regularly performs with her friends pianists Sophie Labandibar and Suzana Bartal, and in chamber music with her colleagues of the orchestra for various projects.

Julie is also interested into teaching, and since 2013 she teaches at Rotterdam Conservatory (CODARTS). In the summer she is since a few years assistant-teacher of Philippe Bernold at the “Académie Internationale d’été” of Nice.
