Born on March 16th 1984 in Aix-en-Provence, Jean-Paul Maradan starts bassoon in 1994 at the « Ecole National de Musique » of Aix-en-Provence with teacher Pierre-Marie Chelma. He obtains his gold medal for bassoon, chamber music, theory and his “Prix de Perfectionnement”. In 2005 he integrates the “CNR” of Lyon with Jean Pignoly, and one year later he enters the “CNSMD” of Lyon in the class of Carlo Colombo.

Jean-Paul often plays with prestigious orchestras such as the “Opéra de Lyon”, the “Orchestre National de Lyon”, the “Orchestre Symphonique de Mulhouse”, the Norway Radio Orchestra, the Morocco Philharmonic Orchestra, The “Camerata de Bourgogne”…

Jean-Paul is now second bassoon of the "Orchestre National Bordeaux Aquitaine" with chief conductor Kwamé Ryan.
